 Speaking of Roses
Speaking of Roses

8 1/2" x 11"
Ballpoint pen

Ballpoint pen is a great medium. I use it like silverpoint. This drawing is good example of the wonderful effects that can be done with it. I just start a piece like this and let my imagination go.

Horse II Horse II

9 1/2" x 9 1/2"

I love drawing horses and I usually use ancient statues for my models, the Chinese ones are especially powerful.

Angel Dreams
Angel Dreams 10" x 12 7/8"

I did this in honour of all of my friends who love angels. Just nice quiet piece, the kind I would normally do as a commission.

Eagle Totem
Eagle Totem
11" x 9 3/4"
Pen and ink
In the first Nation's belief, the eagle is the symbol of the illumination of spirit, healing and creation. Many people are drawn to it because it is so powerful.

Glimpses of Africa
Glimpses of Africa
9" x 16" approx.

I've always admired Gustav Klimpt's work. I used his technique of putting a realist face amidst a surreal background.

Seven Legends
Seven Legends
12 1/2" x 6"
Gouache
Here I tried Jung's theory that we are close to our subconscious and if we can just relax, things we need to know will surface. I'm am most relaxed while drawing, so I just let it flow and let my subconscious out onto the paper. I'm not sure how to interpret what I did, but I know that death rides above us and not below. It is where we will all go in the end and it's shadow effects everything in this life.

$900.00 - framed

Creation
Creation
18" x 9" approx.
Watercolour and gouache
All of creation springs for the same energy source. All of the bugs, plants, rocks, fishes and humans. We are inextricably bound together in this terrible and yet beautiful dance.

Shaded by Fantasy
Shaded by Fantasy
10" x 12" approx.
Pen and ink
I draw so many birds since their shapes are so conducive to fantasy. I love adding the detail and the flowing lines. This one looks particularly smug.

Illusions of Success
Illusions of Success
11" x 9"
Mixed medium
A long time ago, I drew this piece while I wondered about success as an artist, and after many art shows and playing The Game, I am now doing art for art's sake. I just do what people pay me to do and I paint what I like. Now I am very happy as an artist.
